High School Senior Portraits I Alex
Time flies! As Alex's aunt, I can attest to that statement by telling you that it seems like only yesterday I was holding her in my arms as an infant. Today, she's a senior in High School and making plans for the next chapter in her life...college. Yes. College. Where did the time go? Alex attends Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach. Over the Thanksgiving break my family and I traveled to VA which gave me the perfect opportunity to photograph Alex's senior session. We hit the mall a couple of days before the shoot, did some shopping, and then headed over to an old Milk Farm in Chesapeake for the session. Thanks to the owners, we had the whole place to ourselves to explore and photograph a variety of different looks as you will see.
Along with regular math and science classes, Alex also attends cosmetology courses which will allow her to not only graduate with a HS diploma but a cosmetology license as well. Smart girl indeed! She has already set up her little business cutting, coloring, and styling hair which provides some money in her pocket for gas, food and all the other expenses that come along with being a senior. Told ya she was a smart girl!
When planning for outfit changes we wanted to keep the color scheme the same. So you will notice that in all three outfits although they are different they all follow a color scheme. We utilized layering with a sweater and jacket in some photos, two different styles of boots, a hat, a necklace, bangle bracelets and a scarf to add some interest.
Look at all the color and variety in the backgrounds that where available to us at this farm. It turned out absolutely amazing!
Adding more interest to the photos were the window and door frames. I love the chipped paint which adds more character to the scenery.
Ahhh... the hat. Accessories are so much fun and they help create a whole new look.
Cowboy boots were an absolute must for this session and they look great. I encourage my clients to bring a special something to their session whether it's a hat, shoes, or a blanket. I will find a way to incorporate it in your photos and make it that much more special and custom to you.
I'm so happy to have photographed my very own niece's High School Senior portraits. This truly is a huge milestone in a person's life being that it leads into adulthood and I find it such joy to document. If we think that time went by quickly up until this point just wait and see how much faster it goes from here.
